In June, we supposed to be in the rainy season which last till mid of July, however it’s been pretty fine for a week.

The day before yesterday, when I was on my way to home, it was dark and thundered and lightened. Fortunately, I didn’t get wet at all, I had barely got home when the storm broke.

We haven’t have such a heavy rain for a long days, so the rain was a great blessing to us.

I think that most of people don’t like rain when they are traveling, but Kyoto is still nice place to go sightseen in the rainy season because…

1. not so many people walking around Kyoto (off season: fro mid of May to mid of October)

2. rain but not too hot

3. cheaper than on-season (Spring and Fall)

What I want to recommend you to do in the rainy season in Kyoto is to go to “Garden temple tour”

On season, many many many people come to Kyoto to see cherry blossom and maples. However, to tell the truth, the most beautiful view is seen in rainy season, whichi is in May, June, July and August.

Leaves are fresh green and shiny with sunshine and rain.

Hydrangea (Ajisai)

Bellflower (Kikyou)

Calamus (Syoubu)

Water lily (Suiren)

- Tofukuji temple

- Mimurotoji temple

- Heian jingu Shrine

- Ryoanji temple

If you have plan to come to Kyoto, I really recommend to go those temples and shrine.
